Condition
Not examined out of frame. Good condition. More faded than the example illustrated in Stevenson, but nevertheless a fine print in good condition. A small mark near the lower right corner would appear to be an attempt at retouching contemporaneous with the date of the print.

The figure on the right, sketchbook in hand, is David Octavius Hill. Stevenson 2001, at p. 154 , provides a detailed analysis of this image and describes some of the importance of the Nasmyth family to Hill.
