Provenance

Acquired by Nancy Richardson from the above, 1998

Condition

The photographs are all in generally excellent condition. 'Untitled 157': The edges of the print are lightly chipped. In raking light, a few small deposits of the photographer's original retouching are visible. The photograph is mounted to a small unevenly trimmed white board. 'Carnival': The edges of the print have a few minor chips and the corners have been lightly bumped. There is a small, faint handling crease at the lower right. There is a small, pencil-point-sized raised area in the print's surface at the top center. These are both visible only in raking light. There are extensive printing notations by the photographer in pencil on the reverse. From the Diary/Landscape series: The photograph is hinged to the mat at the top corners, which are lightly creased. On the reverse, there are four small circular remnants of black paper at each corner, from a previous mounting. The back of the print is annotated '8-16B' by the photographer in pencil.
