Condition

This print, very slightly warm-toned and on double-weight paper with a surface sheen, is in generally very good to excellent condition. The edges are somewhat rubbed, and the corners are bumped. The signature in the margin is slightly smudged. When examined in raking light, a faint v-shaped deposit of indeterminate nature is visible at the upper edge, as well as faint silvering in the dark areas, tiny deposits of original retouching, and several tiny scratches and indentations that do not break the emulsion. None of these affects the otherwise attractive appearance of this early print. The reverse of the print has four small abrasions in the corners, possibly from having been adhered to something. There are several annotations, in various unidentified hands, in pencil and in ink--'RS' (circled), '415/28,' 'Book 10,' and '#G5681.'
