Some paint loss and scratches throughout. Some minor craquelure is visible in the upper right corner in the clouds. There are a number of surface scratches and abrasions to the paint surface (possibly due to minor oxidisation). There is some extremely minor paint loss to the upper left section as well as to the right of the main figure's face. Minor frame abrasion along the right hand edge. This work would benefit from cleaning. Ultraviolet light reveals minor retouching to the figure's face. Held in a carved wood frame with minor damage. The yellow halo around the virgin's head is softer in tone than it appears in the catalogue image.
