Catalogue Note

Cet artiste londonien a peint un certain nombre de sujets Orientalistes, par exemple un chasseur arabe s'est vendu chez Christie's à Londres le 17 juin 1999 pour 36 700 £. Une petite version de notre tableau (35.6 x 22.9 cm) est passé en vente chez Christie's à Londres le 20 mars 1981 sous le titre A consecration of Arms.
Par ailleurs L'Univers Illustré a reproduit dans son numéro daté du 15 octobre 1892, un tableau orientaliste de l'artiste "Prière avant le combat" (1891).
