Description

  • Abraham de Vries
  • Portrait of a man, half length, wearing a black tunic with embroidered collar and cuffs, holding a pair of gloves
  • oil on canvas

Provenance

With Lane Fine Art, London (according to a label on the reverse).

Condition

The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is somewhat abraded, especially centre left and centre right, and has been flattened with the relining. There have been retouchings to the backgound and details but the varnish impedes thorough examination under ultra violet light. Offered in an ebonised wood frame in fair condition.
