- oil on panel, stamped on the reverse with the brand of the city of Antwerp
Condition
The panel is made up of three vertical sections which are held together by two horizontal battens. The paint surface is in reasonable condition but the panel joins are visible and there is some restoration along these joins. There is a retouched vertical crack upper centre of 15 cm and a scratch centre right of 10 cm. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals retouchings to many of the dark areas and clothing. Offered in a modern frame in reasonable condition but with some knocks.
