Description

  • Mary Magdalene
  • oil on panel

Condition

The single panel is cradled. There is a horizontal crack 30 cms from the upper edge all along the panel and two smaller cracks of aprox 15 cms about 30 cms from the lower edge. The paint surface has suffered considerable wear and frame abrasion and therefore there is considerable retouching throughout, particulalry to the sky and along the crack. The thick varnish prevents thorough examination under UV light although some more recent retouchings do flouresce. Offered in a later wooden painted frame.
