Description

  • A female saint in a porticoed interior with other female figures behind
  • oil on panel

Condition

The single panel appears to be a fragment of a once larger panel. There are two vertical splits of 15 and 10 cm which com eup from the lower edge which have been secured by battens. The paint surface is largely secure with some fine craquelure throughout and some scattered moinor paint losses. There is some retouchings to areas where the paint has thinned, particularly to the ladies' garments and along the above mentioned splits. Insection under UV light reveals scattered retouchings throughout, particularly in between the craquelure. Offered in a later wooden frame with some damages.
