Description

  • A pair of Italianate river landscapes with travellers on paths
  • a pair, both oil on canvas, in carved and gilt wood frames

Condition

The canvases have old relinings. The paint surface of both is largely secure and the fine craquelure is stabilised by a thick and slightly dirty varnish. The second painting in the catalogue there are some restored paint losses in the sky. The varnish inspects thorough examination under UV light although there appear to be scattered retouchings to both paintings. Offered in wood and plaster frames with some kocks and paint losses.
