  • oil on canvas

Condition

The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is in reasonable condition with a restored U-shaped tear to the right of the Magdalen's neck. There are two visible discoloured retoucings, the first to the right cheek of her face and the second to a small area in the right-hand lock of hair, which fluoresce when inspected under ultraviolet light. The lot is offered in a later painted wooden frame.
