Condition
The canvas has been relined. Although there is cracquelure throughout, the paint surface is secured by a yellowing varnish with some very minor flaking to the lower centre. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals some some old retouchings throughout the painting, particularly to the drapery, the sky and the tree leaves. The lot is offered in a carved and gilt wood frame with several knocks and losses.
