Description
- Adam and Eve lamenting the death of Abel
- oil on canvas
Condition
The canvas has an old relining. There is a restored hole upper right above Adam's left hand which is patched to the reverse with newspaper. The paint surface is largely secured by the varnish although there are some minor scattered paint losses and the paint is starting to crack and lift along the upper edge. Scattered retouchings are apparent throughout although thorough inspection under UV is impeded by the varnish. Offered in a wood and plaster gilt frame with several losses.
