Condition
The single flat panel is bevelled along the four edges and is uncradled. There is a very fine horizontal crack of aprox 15 cm which runs along the upper right edge but this has not unsettled the paint surface which is overall secure. Several details of the sitter have been repainted in particular her hair and details of her dress. Inspection under UV light reveals older retouchings to the sitter's face and dress and more recent retouchings to the outlines of the face and body and the birdcage. Offered in a later wooden frame.
