- Portrait of a nobleman, half length, wearing armour, said to be Alfonso d'Avalos, Marchese di Pescara e del Vasto (1502 - 1546)
bears inscription and signature: Il Marchese / del Vasto / Tintoretto pinx.t and the old inventory number: W7

Condition
The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is largely secure with a very small hole centre left. The paint has however worn in several areas which have subsequently been retouched, for example the sitter's beard. Further retouchings are visible under UV light. Offered in a carved and painted wooden frame.
