Description

- A still life with salmon steaks, a sardine, bread roles, an onion, a roemer, a glass pitcher and a fork on a partly draped table;A still life with a ham, tongues, a loaf of bread, a knife, a glass and a glass jug on a partly draped table
- both signed lower centre on the table edge: G:C:Deflans. F:
- a pair, both oil on canvas
Condition
Both canvases have been relined. There are no major damages (there are some scattered holes in the relining of the latter painting though not in the painted canvas itself). Inspection under ulatra violet light reveals some scattered retouchings in the former painting, particularly to the table cloth and plate. In the latter there is a marked areas of retouching to the background upper right and scattered retouchings to the table cloth. Upper right there is a restored horizontal tear of about 15 cm. Both lots are offered in modern new frames in good condition.
