Description

  • A still life with a musket, a dog and dead game with a mallard duck, a partridge and other song birds under a tree

Condition

The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is in good condition with fine craquelure throughout and under a thick discoloured varnish. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals retouchings to the outlines of the birds and other scattered strengthenings, although the thick varnish impedessatisfactory examination. Offered in a new modern frame with some light paint losses.
