The canvas has a fairly old relining. The paint surface is now secured by a thick varnish which has somewhat yellowed, although there have been several infilled paint losses, particularly in the background areas. The varnich prevents satisfactory inspection under UV light, although retouchings to the more abraded areas are clearly visible to the naked eye. Offered in a later painted wooden frame which is in fair condition with some minor paint losses.
