Condition

The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is generally secure although somewhat abraded in areas and subsequently retouched. There are scattered retouchings and strengthenings to the darker areas of the costume, the face and the hairline and the background and these clearly flouresce under UV light. Offered in an elaborate carved and gilt wood frame with some minor paint losses.
