Catalogue Note
The highly decorative still life is typical of a group of painters working in Rome in the middle of the 17th century, amongst which Carlo Manieri and Francesco Noletti, called Il Maltese (formerly known as Francesco Fieravino). Their elaborate still lifes would have appealed greatly to wealthy Roman aristocrats of the day.
