Catalogue Note
The subject is taken from the Gospels of Matthew (17. 1-13), Mark (9: 2-13) and Luke (9:28-36), and depicts the moment when Christ revealed his divine nature to the disciples Peter, James and John on Mount Tabor. Moses and Elijah, symbolic of the Old Testament Law and the Prophets, appeared beside him and conversed with him.
