Condition

"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. Both canvases have old linings. The paint surfaces on both are raised and unstable in parts. The backgrounds to both paintings are abraded and canvas texture and ground colour is visible. There are further small paint losses. Some of these abrasions and losses have been retouched out. The red pigment of the flowers are vulnerable and in some cases worn. Evidence of discoloured varnish."
"This lot is offered for sale subject to Sotheby's Conditions of Business, which are available on request and printed in Sotheby's sale catalogues. The independent reports contained in this document are provided for prospective bidders' information only and without warranty by Sotheby's or the Seller."
