"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The original canvas is lined and the paint layer is raised and unstable. There are visible discoloured restorations upper and lower right; lower left and centre. Under U-V light other small retouchings can be seen. The paint in the fruit still life is in a much better condition, there is less intervention here. The varnish is discoloured, it's removal would improve the tonality."
