Description
- A Mediterranean coastal scene with figures on the shore in the foreground
with inventory number 46 on an old label in the lower right corner
- oil on canvas, in a carved and gilt wood frame
Condition
"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
The canvas is lined and the paint layer is stable. There is minor paint loss to the canvas edges, retouched , and along the lower edge, right. There is a damage through the sky by the castle to the right. Other small paint loss is discernible and under UV light the remains of a discoloured varnish can be detected."
