Condition

"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. Both oak panels have slight curvature. The 'maiolica vase' has a degraded and cradled panel with a lower right restored diagonal split and an upper right restored split. There is a split running down the right hand edge, also restored. Small wood knots in the panel have caused deformation to the paint surface . Small retouchings to the background are visible. The 'glass vase' panel is uncradled , but edged with oak strips, and in a better condition although it too has wood knots which have caused deformation to the paint surface in places. The left hand edge bears retouchings as does the background."
"This lot is offered for sale subject to Sotheby's Conditions of Business, which are available on request and printed in Sotheby's sale catalogues.
