Condition

"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The oak panel has been thinned , veneered and cradled. There are two repaired vertical joins which have been restored. There are small unstable splits along the bottom edge. The paint surface is sound. There is extensive restoration to the boys face, hat and hands and, to a lesser extent, the tunic."
