Adriaen Jansz. van Ostade Haarlem 1610 - 1685

"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The oak panel is in good condition apart from some earlier worm infestation which has compromised the upper right hand corner. This corner has been rebuilt and repaired in the past. There is slight abrasion to the darker passages and retouching has been used to reduce the prominent vertical wood grain where the paint is thin e.g. the hair of the brawler with the knife."
