The composition of the Summer landscape, is derived from a work by Josef van Bredael, signed and dated 1725, on copper, which was sold London, Christie's, 26 March 1971, lot 55 (see K. Ertz, Josef van Bredael 1688-1739, Lingen 2006, pp. 7, 18, 56 and 171, cat. no. E87, reproduced fig. 13).
