Another version of this painting by Saftleven, on canvas, is in the Centraal Museum, Utrecht (inv. no. 245). Besides its support of canvas, it differs in that the right side of the composition does not show the small sailing boat; otherwise both works are nearly identical (see W. Schulz, Herman Saftleven 1609-1685, Leben und Werk, Berlin/New York 1982, p. 200, cat. no. 260).
