Ex coll. St. John Dent (L. 2373)
Condition
Support
This print is on a sheet of fine laid paper showing a Gothic D.
There is a skilful repair at the top edge on the blank paper running from the right edge to the rocks across the tops of the branches of the tree. Possibly the lower left corner is repaired but a hinge is obscuring this area. There is a small hole in the cap of the man's hat above Christ, and a scratch on the loser left part of the tomb.
Medium
Apart from skilful black ink facsimile work on the branches in the repair on the top edge this print has been enhanced with black ink in places on the recto and also on the verso to deepen the ink penetration through the sheet in order to "improve" the impression.
