Catalogue Note
Francesco was the son of Giovanni Paolo Panini, and was one of a number of accomplished artists who worked in his father's studio, satisfying the enormous demand for the architectural paintings and drawings that the elder Panini had done so much to popularize. Another notable studio member was Hubert Robert.
