Catalogue Note

We are very grateful to Dwight Miller for recently confirming the attribution to Franceschini, on the basis of a photograph.  Mr Miller suggests that the drawing is an autograph replica of the painting of the same subject in the Accademia Albertina, Turin, which is datable to the first decade of the 18th Century.1
