Description

  • recto: study for a lunette with the judgement of paris, and a study of a puttoverso: various studies of a female nude
  • pen and brown ink and wash, heightened with white (recto); pen and brown ink (verso); on blue paper

Condition

There is a water stain on the upper part of ther verso, but this is not visible on the recto. Otherwise the condition is absolutely fine.

Catalogue Note

This must be a study for a fresco decoration, perhaps in a villa in the Veneto.  The style is that of artists working in Venice and Verona in the orbit of Paolo Veronese.
