Condition
Some minor flaking and abrasion, around all four edges and in one or two other places in lower half of composition. Otherwise good and fresh. Sold in a fine antique tortoiseshell frame.

Catalogue Note
The composition is taken from a painting by Hans von Aachen, by way of the print by Raphael Sadeler the Elder (Hollstein 41). Another gouache version of the composition, which, like the print, places the subject within an oval, has been published as by Giulio Clovio.1
Sold in an antique tortoiseshell frame.
