Catalogue Note

Pourbus painted the Archduchess and her husband, Albrecht of Austria, after arriving at the Brussels court in 1598. Several copies of this portrait exist in various museums. Possible originals for this copy may be in the Groenige Museum, Bruges or in the Museo Municipal, Vigo.
