Condition
Some restored tears mainly in the background. A long taer starting from the top to the back of the woman. Some restaurations in the lower part of the painting.

Ce tableau se dinstingue par ses dimensions: les portraits de Patania sont souvent plus petits et en buste alors que celui-ci est en pied. Il représente une jeune fille de la bonne société, dans un intérieur sicilien des années 1830, en train d'arranger un bouquet. Elle est entourée de quelques objets familiers: boîte à ouvrage, panier, pendule etc...
Paysagiste, décorateur, peintre de scènes religieuses ou mythologiques, Patania fut également un portraitiste célèbre qui reçut dans les années 1820 de nombreuses commandes de portraits de l'aristocratie, de la bourgeoisie et du clergé siciliens.
