bidding is closed

Description

  • Lee Man Fong
  • Feeding The Horse
  • signed in Chinese with a seal of the artist upper right; with an additional seal of the artist lower left
  • oil on masonite
  • 105 by 50.5cm.; 41¼ by 19¾in.

Provenance

Acquired directly from the artist in the early 70's

Condition

Both the painting and board are in good condition. The masonite board is without cracking or warping. The background has some uneven varnish and there is a small spot of varnish on the mane of the horse that is only visible under ultraviolet light. The paint layers are intact with the brushwork being well-preserved and in stable condition. The colours of the catalogue are quite accurate except that the horse is less reddish and actually, whiter in reality.
