Anak Agung Gede Sobrat 1911-1992
bidding is closed
Description
- Anak Agung Gede Sobrat
- Portrait Of The Artist's Daughter
- signed and inscribed 'Ubud-Bali 13/10-62' lower left
- oil on canvas
- 62 by 47cm.; 24¼ by 18½in.
Provenance
From the collection of Dutch architect Johannes Martinus Groenewegen (1888-1980)
Condition
The painting and canvas are in good condition. The canvas is clear and taut and no retouching was detected upon examination under ultraviolet light.
There is however a very minor repair (measuring about 0.5cm), on the forehead above the left eye of figure with two additional spot repairs near the temple of the figure. The repair in our opinion is before the artist executed the work and is more a result of canvas imperfection.
The paint layers and brush work are intact and in stable condition.
The colours of the catalogue illustration are quite accurate, but actual painting is less reddish in reality.
