A very large French Needlework Carpet 19th century

worked in polychrome wool threads in tent stitch, comprising of sixty repeat motifs (ten motifs across and six up), forming `tile' groups of four, each motif with elongated and scrolling foliage around a beaded roundel worked in olive green, cream and yellow, each of the four facing inwards towards a centralised formation of four small leaves, all on a brick red ground, with a deep four-sided border worked with similar beaded twisted ribbon entwined with pairs of alternating small yellow and elongated red leaves, on a racing green ground
