Description
- Framed: 166cm. high, 74cm. wide; 5ft. 5in., 2ft. 5in.; Textile visible: 148cm. high, 57cm. wide; 4ft. 10in., 1ft. 10in.
worked in polychrome silk and wools in gros and petit point in tent stitch with `Bizarre' style exuberant foliage and stylised flowers, emerging from this luxuriant design, there are two exotically plummed birds in profile, with berried twigs held in their beaks, in a section further below there is a Chinaman standing on an island and flanked by two exotic foliate stems, and a section towards the lower edge has a fox being pursued by an exotic wild cat, all on dark brown ground, and now in a later giltwood and glazed frame
