Description

  • Framed: 44cm. high, 55cm. wide; 1ft. 5in., 1ft. 9in.; Textile visible: 33cm. high, 43cm. wide; 1ft. 1in., 1ft. 5in.
worked in bright polychrome silk threads in a variety of stitches including long and satin stitch, with a female figure holding a large flowered stem, seated in a small chariot drawn by a pair of dalmatians, guided by a male figure in a bright red jacket, with a further young man in attendance to one side holding a tray, within a landscape setting, the faces, necks, décolletage and hands are applied painted silk, signed lower right hand corner, M Hill; mounted in a later giltwood and glazed frame
