Centring on a cushion-shaped sapphire weighing 18.60 carats, decorated throughout with pear-, marquise-shaped and brilliant-cut diamonds together weighing approximately 5.00 carats, mounted in 18 karat white and yellow gold, detachable brooch pin and pendant fittings, signed.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to Gubelin report, the cushion sapphire is natural, of Kashmir origin, with no indication of thermal enhancement. AGL reports gives same opinion in their report and comments the "total quality integration rating" as Excellent for this sapphire. Please refer to the reports for details. In our opinion, the sapphire is of medium to medium dark, rich velvety blue colour, very clean to naked eyes, pleasing outline. Under close observation and 10x loupe, there are silky inclusions and minor colour zoning close to the side, but all these features do not affect the transparency or brilliance of the sapphire. Diamonds in the surround are probably of G to H colours, mostly VS2 to SI clarity. Signed to the back. Condition: Brooch fitting is detachable, with retractable pendant loop that the brooch can be worn as pendant. Signs of normal wear to the mount, consistent to age and use, otherwise in good condition.

Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
