MULTICOLOURED SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND BROOCH, MOIRA

Modelled as a single calceolaria orchid, with slipper-like petals composed of old mine-cut sapphires gradually ranging from pink to blue colours, the sapphires together weighing approximately 9.00 carats, the stem and openwork leaves pavé-set with old mine-cut diamonds, mounted in 18 karat yellow and blackened gold, signed and numbered 4002.

Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the coloured sapphires are of graduated hues from very light to intense blue and very light to medium purple-pink colours, generally eye clean with good brilliance. Under 10x loupe, there are minor surface abrasions and tiny chips, which are consistent to age and use, but all are not seen to naked eyes. Diamonds are of typical old cutting style, probably of H to I colours and SI clarity. Signed and numbered to the reverse. Condition: Slight tarnishing to the metal on the reverse, not seen to the front. Three dimension and lively creation, overall in good condition.
