Description
Designed as the explorer, Marco Polo on the silk route, the head intricately carved with realistic features wearing a pair of diamond pendent earrings, dressed with a hat composed of layers of flattened textured yellow gold plates, suspending articulated briolette yellow sapphires, the body of carved jelly opal, draped with inverted brilliant-cut diamonds of brownish tints, the yellow sapphires together weighing approximately 3.40 carats, diamonds approximately 2.40 carats and opal approximately 30.95 carats, mounted in 18 karat yellow gold.
Condition
Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the tumbled opal set as the body is transparent, of light brownish orange colour with patches of darker colour close to the bottom. This opal does not have noticeable play-of-colour. Yellow sapphire briolettes are of matching, intense orangy yellow colour, in medium tone, eye clean. All invertedly-set and rose-cut diamonds are of medium brown colour, SI clarity.
Condition: Very creative design using the natural shape of gemstone, in very good condition.
