Centring on a sugar loaf cabochon sapphire weighing 4.22 carats, flanked by old mine-cut diamonds together weighing approximately 1.10 carats, completed by diamond-set bars linked with step-cut sapphires, mounted in gold, length approximately 180mm, circa 1880.
Condition
Colour and Clarity: According to AGL report, the centre cabochon sapphire is natural, of Kashmir origin, with no indications of thermal enhancement. Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, the sapphire is of medium blue colour in good saturation, clean to naked eyes. Under 10x inspection, there are surface pits on the dome, which is consistent to its age and not noticeable to naked eyes. The cabochon has a high domed profile outline. Other small square-cut sapphires are of similar colour and clarity condition. Two old-mine cut diamonds are probably about H to I colours, SI clarity showing small dark inclusions under 10x loupe.
Condition: Moderate discolouration to the mount. Signs of wear and minor scratches consistent with age and use, and catch is in good working order, overall in good condition.

Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
