Description

The pendant centering a large cushion-shaped sapphire weighing  59.13 carats, framed by clusters of 43 pear-shaped, marquise-shaped and round diamonds weighing a total of approximately 10.00 carats, mounted in platinum, suspended from a delicate scallop-edged necklace set continuously with 131 round diamonds weighing approximately 5.30 carats, mounted in platinum, length 15 inches, numbered 85329, pendant detachable.

Condition

Good condition. The cushion-shaped sapphire is slightly medium violetish blue; a moderate amount of silk is visible when the stone is tilted to a sharp angle. Moderate color-zoning (not apparent when worn). Please see AGL report no. CS 36977 stating that the sapphire is of Classic Ceylon origin; heat enhancement: none. The diamonds are approximately G-H color and VS clarity. Fitted with a safety clasp.
