Description
Designed as a spray of flowers and leaves set throughout with numerous old-mine and rose-cut diamonds, altogether weighing approximately 30.00 carats, the central blossom set with a pearl measuring approximately 13.4 by 12.1 mm., further decorated throughout with 10 additional pearls of baroque and pear shape, mounted in gold and silver, 2 diamonds missing.
Condition
In good condition overall. Brooch fitting has two "slides" on either side for clasps, possibly for a comb attachment. The center of the mechanism also with scratch number 9320. Pearls have not been tested but are assumed to be natural, and range in luster from waxy to good. The large central pearl with moderate luster but generally clean skin. The small pearl in the upper left hand side of the image has a drill hole at the back in the middle. The pearl on the far left of rounder shape with a circular feather-like inclusion in the nacre. Diamonds are approximately H-K color and SI-I clarity, as noted in the catalogue, two diamonds missing. The pinstem and pin attachment stamped ET in a rectangular lozenge. Heavily tarnished and some discoloration on the gold on the reverse.
