Description
- Cartier, Paris
Designed as a bowl of flowers decorated in "tutti frutti" style with carved sapphire, ruby and emerald leaves and diamond-centered emerald and ruby beads, the base decorated with a row of small cabochon emeralds, set throughout with old European-cut diamonds and accented further with bands of black enamel, mounted in platinum, signed Cartier, made in France, numbered 02759.
Condition
The colored stones are medium to deep shades, with surface-reaching inclusions, opacity, and chipping typical to stones of this type. The diamonds are approximately H-J color and SI-I clarity, with a couple of yellow to yellow-brown diamonds. Damage and loss to the black enamel band at the base of the bouquet, but overall the piece is in good condition. Signed Cartier on the rim at the foot of the bowl, Made in France on the underside of the bowl, and numbered 02759 on the cup on reverse of the middle carved emerald bead.
