Catalogue Note
first edition. Scheuchzer, a fellow of the Royal Society of London, under whose auspices this work was published, made his journeys through his native Switzerland between 1702 and 1704. The complete account of his travels incorporated further travels made between 1709 and 1711 and was published in four quarto volumes in 1723. He describes natural history, geology, botany and hydrology.
