Catalogue Note
This work is the abridged version of Theatrum praecipuarum urbium which was first published in 1657 (see previous lot). Van Waesbergen, established as a bookseller in Amsterdam, acquired by inheritance from his father-in-law Jan Janssonius many of Janssonius's plates.
